Here is a tutorial that shows the progression
on how your caricatures and portraits
are completed.
Step 1
Draft out the position of the characters
and the angle they are facing.
Step 2
Sketch out the faces, bodies together
with postures and
interactions (between them) in pencil.
Step 3
Inking with fine pen strokes to get
the features out, followed by
thicker brush strokes applied on the faces,
bodies and background.
The latter helps to bring
the whole picture out,
even in black & white.
Step 4
Colours are applied using markers.
This helps to bring out the details
which are impossible using pen & brush..
The colours are applied in layers, from light,
medium to dark tones
so that the image will look
more 3-dimensional, contrasting & lively.
Step 5
The completed drawing with
3d musical notes and text added.
